Twoonies for Terry Fundraiser to support cancer treatment and research. Bring a twoonie to donate next week. With 730 students in our school, our goal is $1500. Help us reach our goal to support such an important cause.
This month, our school community is taking time to reflect, learn, and grow together.
Orange Shirt Day | Sept. 30
Orange Shirt Day (September 30) is a day to recognize and honour the experiences of Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools in Canada. It began with the story of Phyllis Webstad, who had her new orange shirt taken away on her first day at residential school. The orange shirt has since become a symbol of resilience and a reminder that “Every Child Matters.” On this day, students and staff are encouraged to wear orange as we learn about the importance of compassion, respect, and reconciliation. We will be wearing Orange on October 1 since September 30 is a Non-instruction Day.
Fall Equinox
The Fall Equinox, which takes place around September 21, marks the moment when day and night are equal in length. Many Indigenous cultures observe this as a time of balance, reflection, and gratitude for the harvest. It reminds us of the importance of caring for the land, respecting the natural cycles of the earth, and living in harmony with one another.
National Day for Truth and Reconciliation | Sept. 30
The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation (September 30) is a federal statutory day of remembrance. It invites all Canadians to reflect on the history and legacy of residential schools and to consider how we can contribute to reconciliation today. As a school, we will engage in age-appropriate learning experiences to help students build understanding, empathy, and respect.
Together, these important days encourage us to pause, reflect, and learn alongside our children as we build a brighter, more inclusive future.
Thank you for supporting these conversations at home by talking with your children about what they are learning and why it matters.
Warm regards,
Grant McPhail

Past Information
Request | Bus Attendance and End of Day Pick-up
With 730 students, the end of the day is very busy for our office staff. Two things parents could do to help out Ms. Dass and Ms. Louise in the office at the end of day:
- If your child is a bus student and you are picking them up from school, please call the office by 2:00 to inform us that your child will not be on the bus so we have time to adjust the bus attendance rosters before the end of the day.
- If you are picking up students at the end of day, please call the school ahead of time and they will arrange to have the students come to the office, so you do not have to wait.
Request | Annual Forms
The following annual forms are to be completed in SchoolEngage (MyCBE)
- Demographic Verification Form
- Annual Authorization Form
- Citizenship Information Update Form
- Volunteer Registration Form
- Please complete forms at your earliest convenience!
School Starts
School Starts at 9 am. Doors open at 9:00 am and close at 9:05 am. If your child arrives to school after 9:05, they will need to go through the front door and check in at the office.
Take care,
Warm Regards,
Grant McPhail
