The new logo for Grant MacEwan School is a symbol that encapsulates our shared values, and the spirit of Grant MacEwan and our community. This new logo, while modern and dynamic, retains some of the essence of the previous design, ensuring that the legacy of Grant MacEwan continues to inspire and guide us.

Meaning Behind the New Logo

Our new logo features several elements, each thoughtfully chosen to reflect the core values and history of our school:

• The Shield: The logo is framed by a shield, paying homage to the Alberta shield and symbolizing protection, strength, and the safe learning environment we provide for our students.
• Grant MacEwan Peak: The mountain at the shield's center represents Grant MacEwan Peak in Kananaskis, a tribute to the resilience and determination that Grant MacEwan admired in nature and that we strive to instill in our students.
• The Beaver: Central to the logo is the beaver, a creature highly respected by Grant MacEwan for its industrious nature. The beaver symbolizes hard work, community, and the importance of every student's contribution to our collective success. 
• The Lake and Forest: The lake and the forest represent the beautiful landscapes of Alberta, embodying the deep connection to our environment that Grant MacEwan cherished. These elements also symbolize clarity of vision and the depth of knowledge we encourage in our students.
• The Sun and Sky: The gradient sky, transitioning from light yellow to orange, signifies hope, optimism, and the bright future we are working towards together. It also reflects the new dawn in education, where each day is an opportunity to learn, grow, and achieve.

We Share a Dream

Our school motto, "We Share a Dream," continues to drive everything we do. It reflects our collective aspiration to create a school where every student is nurtured, every voice is heard, and every dream is possible. The new logo serves as a visual reminder of this shared commitment and the bright future we are building together.

Farewell Assembly

Each year we have to say “Farewell to Friends” in June. Please join us as we share with students, staff and parents our goodbyes for the year and celebrate what we have accomplished at Grant MacEwan School this year. Check our calendar for dates. More information will be sent home in June.
