Dear Grant MacEwan Families,
Our Grade 6’s participated in their first Provincial Achievement Test (PATs) this past week. More PAT’s to come later in June. We also enjoyed our student talent show on Friday. Ask your children about the surprise guest Synchro Swim Team that also showed off their talents during the show. Lots of fun had by all.
We also recognized and thanked our School Council Executive for all their efforts to support learning and reduce field trip costs through their fundraising efforts. We also recognized and thanked our volunteers who helped out this year volunteering their time to supervise our field trips. Many of these field trips and valuable learning experiences would not have been possible without the support of our volunteers and School Council members. Thank-you from all the students and staff at Grant MacEwan School!!

Rotary Stampede Pancake Breakfast
Yaaaahoooo! We are all looking forward to our Rotary Stampede Pancake Breakfast on Friday June 6.
We are excited to let you know that we will be having a Stampede Pancake Breakfast Friday, June 6 sponsored by Rotary Club of Calgary. The Rotary Club volunteers will be cooking pancakes and sausages for our staff and students. Students will enjoy pancakes and engage in line dancing and other activities throughout the day. Students are invited to dress western for the day. Reminder that students are not allowed to bring toy guns to school.
Allergies/Food Intolerances
We understand that many students have allergies or are intolerant to many ingredients. The main ingredients for these pancakes are eggs, milk, soy, sugar and flour. The beef sausages are not halal. If your child is allergic or intolerant of any ingredients, we ask that you send a special snack with them on that day so they can enjoy it while others are eating the pancake breakfast.
Please email your homeroom teacher to let them know of any allergies or dietary concerns and that you will be sending a snack. This will inform our teachers of who can and cannot eat the pancakes and/or sausages.
Thank-you Rotary Club of Calgary!!
Sincerely,
Grant McPhail
