Dear Parents/Gaurdians,
I would like to invite you to our Annual General Meeting of the Grant MacEwan School Council on October 19, 2023 at 6:30.
One of the most important ways parents/guardians and community members can make a meaningful difference for our students at Grant MacEwan School is by participating on school council. The Grant MacEwan School Council is an active association of parents and professional staff who work together to promote the well-being and effectiveness of our school. Along with our School Council, we have a Parent Association whose main function is to raise funds for our school.
Our School Council and Parent Association have worked together on many endeavours over the past few years to support our school. They have provided funds for technology, physical education equipment, music equipment, guest speakers, field trip transportation and other numerous initiatives to support student learning.
Currently our School Council and Parent Association are tirelessly engaged in raising funds for a new playground. Our current playground has been identified by inspectors as too old and unsafe and has been scheduled for demolition unless we begin to fundraise for a new playground. Thanks to our School Council and Parent Association, our playground will remain standing, for now, until we raise enough funds to build a new playground.
I would like to acknowledge and thank the following people who have been active members of the Grant MacEwan School Council and Parent Association for many years.
