On Friday, September 13, our students will be participating in our 32nd annual Grant MacEwan Terry Fox Run. This event is dedicated to creating awareness and raising money for cancer research. Many people today have been impacted by cancer, either directly or indirectly, so this year we will be asking students to personally dedicate their run to someone. This can be a relative, family friend, a general group, or Terry Fox himself.

This week, students were given a brief presentation on the heroic efforts of Terry Fox in their Physical Education class. Students will be challenged to donate a “Toonie for Terry” to raise funds for the Terry Fox Foundation. This is 100% voluntary. Those students unable to bring in donations are still able to participate in the event.

On the day of the event, students will run a predetermined route our school yard. Please make sure your student has running shoes, a water bottle and athletic clothing for the day.

We are very pleased to be hosting this year’s Terry Fox Run as we encourage our students to develop a sense of volunteerism and goodwill, while celebrating school spirit. Thank you in advance for your support!
